Details of Disappearance

Shannon Salisbury left her boyfriend, Henry Stankey, their two children, both younger than 2, and their home in Bangor, to go for a drive after an argument with her boyfriend, about 21.30 on October 20, 1994. She was never seen again. Her boyfriend reported her missing two days later.

On October 23, Salisbury's abandoned car was found with a flat tire on Jewett Road, near Niedfeldt Road, north of Burns, about 5 miles from her home. Salisbury's boyfriend has been very uncooperative with the investigation. He maintains his innocence in her disappearance and has custody of their children. There was a domestic dispute between the couple about a month before Salisbury disappeared; they supposedly argued because she wanted to end the relationship. Foul play is suspected. Over the years, unsuccessful search efforts with cadaver dogs have taken place in the area where Shannon’s car was found.

Boyfriend Harold Stankey has a long criminal history.
