Some things you can do for your missing:

Get them added to Doe Network, before ten years missing only family or law enforcement can do this.

 
Thoroughly re-search the home and the area nearest their home with permission of homeowners. Be sure to check cars, garages, and sheds.

Have their computer or phone examined to see if they said anything about where they were going. If they are not a minor or you don't have access to these records, it may be difficult and may require a conservatorship of the estate.

Ask the police to check homeland security to see if they left the country.
